10-Day Full Moon Experience Tour from Bangkok: Khao Sok National Park and Koh Phangan

We’ll be there to pick you up from either of Bangkok’s airports and then bring you back to our hotel where the trip begins. Settle in, and opt to either relax by the pool or go for a stroll and explore your local surroundings. We’ll all meet in the evening where you’ll be able to get to know the rest of your group, over dinner and drinks on the infamous Khao San Road.

Time for some culture! Today we’ll see the city’s impressive temples and the giant reclining Buddha statue by tuk-tuk, and enjoy a cruise along the Chao Phraya River on a traditional longtail boat. The rest of the day is yours to explore, try some local Thai cuisine, or have a go at bartering at some of the street markets in the city - you might bag a bargain! In the evening, we’ll all meet up again for dinner, drinks and more group bonding.

In the morning, enjoy a nice and relaxing massage, chill by the pool, or explore more of your surroundings. In the afternoon, we’ll all board a sleeper train south for the night, as we swap the hustle & bustle of the city, for the peace and tranquility of Khao Sok national park. Don’t worry, everyone gets their own berth, and fresh linen on the train - it’s an authentic Thai experience, watching the scenery change as you head south.

Arrive into the station in the early morning, and jump into private minivans, as we make our way out to Khao Sok National Park, a TruTravels favourite. Journey out to our floating bungalows on a longtail boat, stopping for a quick dip at a couple of Instagram-worthy locations on the way. Take a kayak out for a paddle, or chill out with a beer in a tube. The backdrop here is something that needs to be seen to be believed. We’ll be staying in floating bungalows on a freshwater lake surrounded by rainforest; it doesn’t get more relaxing.

Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast, after a morning dip in the lake; before we board a ferry & head across to Koh Phangan. When we get there, we head straight to the secluded paradise of Bottle Beach; another TruTravels favourite. It’s quiet, beautiful, only accessible by boat; and to make it better, we get pretty much the whole place to ourselves, staying in beach bungalows overlooking the ocean. Relax here for the rest of the afternoon, enjoy some volleyball, sunbathing on the beach or swimming in the ocean. In the evening we’ll enjoy dinner & some cocktails on the beach, complete with a campfire with our own private fire show. Paradise.

Wake up to the sound of waves lapping up on the beach merely metres from your bungalow. The morning is free for you to spend as you like; top up the tan, go kayaking, play volleyball, or just enjoy a lay in. In the afternoon we head to a local gym for some Muay Thai boxing training, Thailand’s national sport. After working up a sweat, we head to our awesome accommodation to freshen up. It’s got a great bar, and atmosphere; the ideal location to spend the the last nights of the trip.

Head out on a cruise around Koh Phangan, taking in the scenery and enjoying some snorkelling at the best spots around the island. It gets better though, we throw in a free bucket & lunch; and awesome day out. In the evening, head back to our accommodation for a dip, dinner and drinks.

Enjoy a day party at one of the biggest and craziest waterslides in Southeast Asia! We will meet in our hostel that night for a UV painting session to get us ready for the Full Moon Experience. We will take you to the best pre-drinking spots before hitting the Full Moon party in TruTravels style! Those of you hardcore enough to make it to sunrise (the best bit); may even get to join us at the after-party which starts at 6am! No rest for the wicked.

Depending on what time you stumble in from the party, you will probably need some of today to sleep & recover, which is why the only planned activity today is a nice relaxing massage and possibly a film at a local bar. Who doesn’t love spending some time relaxing in a hammock by the beach?
