The Hungarian resort town on the north shore of Lake Balaton is popular for its mineral springs and holds the title of "International Town of Grape and Wine." Balatonfured, often simply called Fured, was first mentioned in 1211 in relation to the nearby Tihany Abbey. Points of interest include the Tagore Promenade, Eszterhazy Beach, Jokai Mor Memorial Home, Town Museum, Kerektemplom, Roman Catholic Parish Church and Gyogy ter.
