This Romanian city is surrounded by the Southern Carpathian Mountains and located within Transylvania close to the legendary Bran Castle, or Dracula's Castle. Brasov was first established in 1234 under the name Corona and developed in following years by German settlers encouraged by Hungarian rulers. It is the city where the Romanian National Anthem was written. Points of interest include St. Nicholas Church, City Center, The Black Church, The Rope Street, Catherine's Gate, Brașov Citadel Fortress and nearby Bran Castle.
