About Kamloops

The city of Kamloops in southern central British Columbia, Canada is located at the confluence of the Thompson River. Situated in the Thompson Valley and is also near the Kamloops Indian Band areas, as well as many communities including Adams Lake and Scotch Creek. The city of Kamloops was incorporated in 1893 following the gold rush of the 1860s and the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. It is home to almost 90,000 residents and is ranked 37th out of 100 of the largest metropolitan areas in Canada.
