About National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific

The national veterans cemetery located in the Punchbowl Crater in Honolulu is dedicated to the men and women who served in the United States military and contains approximately 70 unknown markers for men who were known to have died in the USS Arizona during the Pearl Harbor attack. National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific was established in 1949 and was the first cemetery to have Bicentennial Medal of Honor headstones. It has a memorial walkway lined with monuments to honor veterans offered to the cemetery from various organizations. National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is visited by more than five million people annually and is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
