Oviedo is the capital city of the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain. Oviedo has a long and extensive history; the city was believed to have been founded by two monks in 761. Located between the Nalon River and the Nora River, the city has an oceanic climate and the city's center is very hilly. The city has much architectural history, with many buildings dating back to the early medieval period.
