Itinerary

Encounter two of the most fascinating attractions in Rome in one day! Combining these two amazing attractions together with skip the line tickets, this tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Colosseum allows you to experience the best Rome has to offer in one trip!

After picking you up from your hotel and introducing you to your expert, local guide, we'll begin our tour with the invaluable Vatican Museum. Home to 54 different galleries. This amazing collection includes works by artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Raphael and Giotto, to name a few.

Following our exploration of the first 53 galleries, we'll head to the most famous: the Sistine Chapel. Over 500 years old, the Sistine Chapel is arguably the most famous chapel in the world, largely because of Michelangelo world-famous fresco.

From here we'll visit the largest basilica and pilgrimage site in the world: St. Peter's Basilica.

Then we'll enjoy a three-course meal at a local Italian restaurant.

Those selecting the basic itinerary without the lunch upgrade must make their own way to the arc of the Colosseum at 2:15pm, the start time for the second part of the tour.

Get ready for the second half of our tour: the Roman Colosseum! Skip the line with and enter this ancient and imposing structure to discover its rich history. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to visit Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.

Tips:
Hotel transportation service is available for an extra cost and is on a per person basis, added as an option when booking your tour (verify that your hotel is listed in the hotel pickup list). When booking transportation service at the extra cost you'll also have lunch and transport service included from the restaurant to the archaeological area.       Meeting point for the Colosseum tour portion: Arch of Constantine (Piazza dell'Arco di Costantino) - 15 minutes before the start of your tour (please look for the I Love Rome logo carried by our staff).
    • This activity starts at 8:30 am.
    • Those selecting the basic itinerary without the lunch upgrade must make their own way to the arc of the Colosseum at 2:15pm, the start time for the second part of the tour.
    • On Wednesdays we cannot access St. Peter's Basilica due to the Papal Audience scheduled on that day.
    • Due to heightened security measures, you may experience delays in clearing security checks when entering the Colosseum.
    • If you wish to add a hotel transfer service for an additional fee, please select the corresponding option on the checkout page. Pick-up service is available at centrally located hotels only. If your hotel or accommodation is not served, please proceed directly to Via Vittorio Emanuele Orlando 95, opposite the Grand Hotel, Metro A Line, Repubblica stop.
    • The tour ends at St. Peter's Square.

    • External guides cannot be added to the group after purchase.

    • Guests with pacemakers must present a certificate to bypass security screening.
    • Dress Code:
    • Appropriate attire is required for religious sites.
    • Avoid sleeveless blouses, miniskirts, shorts, and hats.
    • Tour Entry Requirements:
    • All participants' names must be provided
    • A passport is mandatory on the tour day.
    • Suggestions:
    • Moderate physical fitness is recommended.
    • Wear comfortable shoes and bring sunscreen during summer.
    • Vatican Cloakroom:
    • Items larger than 40 x 35 x 15 cm must be stored.
    • Prohibited items include suitcases, large bags, umbrellas, tripods, and signage.
    • Shoulder bags up to 15 cm wide are permitted.
    • Colosseum Bag Policy:
    • Bulky bags, trolleys, and glass bottles are not allowed.
    • No cloakroom facilities are available at the Colosseum.
    • Accessibility:
    • The areas are not wheelchair accessible and may pose challenges for individuals with mobility issues.
